Before I became a mother, I found myself searching for things to write about. I kept a drawerful of journals, multiple blogs, each on documenting a different day, a different thought, and a different goal. But I was always on the hunt for something new to write about, for an interesting story, or a creative idea.
Not only did being a mother jolt my creativity, but it made writing more meaningful. I wanted to write and connect with other mothers, to write about my experiences, to see if they were going through the same thing, and to learn more about myself. Everyday is a new adventure in this thing called motherhood, and I find that every night, my journal hold a new and exciting story. Even the boring days are exciting. Days that seem so normal, like staying at home and coloring, have so much meaning behind them. My daughter learns so much in the simple task of learning how to draw a circle, something she will do almost everyday for the rest of her life. That is something I have taught her. Something she can never forget.
Motherhood has been my most exciting subject pieces when it comes to writing. If you visit my blog at Stepfanie’s Time Out, you’ll see a post where I write about my struggles finding balance with adding another daughter to our family, but after writing this entry, I feel connected with them once again. Connected, and ready to write some more.
I am a blogger and a writer, and becoming a mother completely changed the game.
