A Moment of Silence..

by Stepfanie on July 26, 2010

Life moves fast for most of us. You move into a new home and before you know it, you’re packing up to move again. You have a child, and before you know it, they’re walking, then running, then driving. You start a new job, and before you know it, you’re putting years’ worth of knick knacks into a little cardboard box. All in the blink of an eye.

With so much happening in our own lives, it’s easy to forget to stop and think about those less fortunate than us- those who perhaps lose their home to foreclosure, lose their husbands in a tragic accident or in battle, or those who lose a child.

I want to encourage you to take a moment to read the stories of some of these amazing families and the tremendous (and often heartbreaking) journeys that they have gone through- some who are in the midst of their battles right now.

You can also check out this new site that will continue listing new blogs as they come across them of families in need.

Do you know of a blog we missed? {There are lots of them I’m sure.} Please include it in the comments section or email it to me at shell@theladybloggers.com and I will add it to this post throughout the day to help raise awareness.

Sending my love to you & yours,
Shell

The other day my family and I were doing some shopping when we saw a very bad car accident and a blue sheet lying on the top of a hill that a car went over. We knew what the blue sheet was for. It was in the paper the next day that a man the same age as my husband and I was killed, and his 3 children that were with him are in the hospital. I always take time to think of those less fortunate than me and remember that we could lose someone close to us in the blink of an eye.

What a wonderful post…even though it’s sad but still inspiring. I lost my father 6 years ago when I was 19. It was very sudden and not due to illness and very hard but it just shows how strong we all really are and that we can get through even the darkest of times.

I lost my best friend just under a year ago in a freak accident, and I’ll never be the same. I know exactly how these people are feeling and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Just horrible, but I’m so incredibly inspired by how strong they are :)

I went through a traumatic loss a couple of years ago and it still hurts. I hope blogging helps some of these families process all the many emotions they feel.

Thank you for posting these blogs. I have experienced some devastating losses in life and was most comforted by people around me who sympathized and supported me. I hope all of us reading these blogs today will do the same for them.

I lost my grandmother to cancer, many years ago & it was a heart wrenching process. When you’re in this situation, you need all the support you can get. I hope that our visits will provide some comfort.

Thank you so much for mentioning our blog JOINING TOGETHER in this post. I appreciate you helping in getting the word out. We really want to be a place where people can come and not only give information, but get information. I see many buttons above that I have not seen yet and I will be adding them to JOINING TOGETHER.
